Pay Per Click Advertising
Pay-per-click (PPC) is big online business. In fact , it’s the primary way Google makes money-almost all of its income, 98 per-cent, comes from PPC-and is very important towards Yahoo! as well. Pay Per Click has taken mass-media advertising to smaller businesses. Businesses that would never have used money on radio, TELEVISION, or newspapers, are now paying it on PPC... and occasionally making a profit!

Sometimes? Effectively, the fact is that PPC will not work for everyone. You may need the right combination of gross earnings per sale, Pay Per Click value, and website conversion rate. If you don’t have the right combination-and many businesses simply don’t-PPC will forfeit you money. Get anything lined up just right, though, in addition to PPC can provide a regular, estimated flow of profitable internet business to your web site.

What Is PAY PER CLICK?

Pay Per Click refers to an advertising procedure in which advertisers pay each and every time someone clicks their advertisement. More specifically, though, these days this refers to ads displayed with search-engine results pages.

You can see a good example in Google Results Page. On top of the search results are a couple of small ads-shown on a lighting azure background in this instance. In the top-right corner, notice the words Sponsored Links. More ads show up down the side of the page-again with the words Sponsored Links, but this time above the ads.

Whenever someone clicks one of these links, the company that placed the particular ad is charged. Just how much? Somewhere from Five cents (on Google) or TEN cents (on Yahoo! ) to many dollars! Some PAY PER CLICK ads cost as much as 50 DOLLARS per click, occasionally even more!

Since large PPC systems typically “feed” a variety of sites, when one buys ads through a system for example Google or Yahoo! Search engine marketing Solutions, your ads could end up on many different search sites. But you may also include your ads distributed in a different place, like on the pages associated with thousands of different web sites, thanks to the Google AdSense distribution program.

PPC advertising has a variety of advantages:

  • It’s extremely quick. You can start getting results through the search engines in a day or two (in theory, a few hours, but in many instances it takes a little longer to acquire everything sorted out).
  • It’s reliable. Using PAY-PER-CLICK to get traffic to your site is incredibly reliable. You can generate a lot of targeted traffic, and always appear for ideal searches in the major search engines like google... if you’re willing to pay enough.
  • It’s easy to measure. You will see just how much traffic you’re receiving, and even figure out how much of the targeted traffic turns into business

Walking & Cycling
A new study shows that the benefits of walking and cycling outweigh the negative effects on health of air pollution, even in places with high levels of air pollution such as New Delhi - one of the most polluted cities in the world.

This new evidence strengthens the case for supporting cycling even in polluted cities, an effort that in turn can help reduce vehicle emissions, researchers said. 'Our model indicates that in London health benefits of active travel always outweigh the risk from pollution,' said Marko Tainio from University of Cambridge in the UK. 'Even in Delhi, one of the most polluted cities in the world – with pollution levels ten times those in London - people would need to cycle over five hours per week before the pollution risks outweigh the health benefits,' said Tainio.

Regular physical activity reduces the risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and several cancers. One way for people to increase their levels of physical activity is through 'active travel' - for example walking and cycling; however, concern has been raised about the potential risk due to air pollution while walking and cycling in urban environments, researchers said.

Air pollution is one of the leading environmental risk factors for people's health. One of the main sources of air pollution in cities is transport and a shift from cars, motorbikes and buses to active travel would help to reduce emissions, researchers said. However, people who walk or cycle in such environments will inhale more pollution, which could be detrimental to their health.

Researchers from CEDAR, a partnership between the Universities of Cambridge and East Anglia, and the Medical Research Council used computer simulations to compare the risks and benefits for different levels of intensity and duration of active travel and of air pollution in different locations around the world, using information from international epidemiological studies and meta-analyses.
The study is the first to model the risks and benefits of walking and cycling across a range of air pollution concentrations around the world, researchers said. Using this data, they calculated that in practical terms, air pollution risks will not negate the health benefits of active travel in the vast majority of urban areas worldwide.

Only 1 per cent of cities in the World Health Organisation's Ambient Air Pollution Database had pollution levels high enough that the risks of air pollution could start to overcome the benefits of physical activity after half an hour of cycling every day, researchers said. The findings were published in the journal Preventive Medicine.

adsense
The hardest part of getting started with Adsense is getting Google to approve your website. In fact, for many, it is easier to get a $100,000 bank loan than it is to get a free Google Adsense account. The key is to be prepared before you apply.

You can’t start using Google Adsense on your pages until you are approved. This means that you must prepare to open an account, before you apply for an account.

The very first thing you must do is read Google’s Terms of Service (TOS). If your site doesn’t fall within the guidelines that Google sets out, it will be denied. Furthermore, even after you are approved and you start running Google ads on your site, if you break the TOS, you will be removed, and possibly banned, from the program.

Specifically, what you are looking for is the Program policies, which can be found at http://www.google.com/adsense. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on then Program Policies link. The first thing to note is that Google will not accept any site that is not complete.

This means that you can’t have any pages that are ‘under construction.’ All of the pages must be complete, and all of the links must be working. Make sure that all of your graphics are also appearing correctly, because even a broken graphic can prevent you from getting approved.

Google also has a set of Quality Guidelines that must be adhered to before you can be approved. These guidelines, along with the program policies, will tell you exactly what you can and can’t have on your site, and what is expected of you and your site in terms of meeting the qualifications for a Google Adsense account. You can find these guidelines at http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer =35769

One mistake that so many would-be Adsense publishers make is not reading the TOS, the Program Policies, and the Webmaster Guidelines. Google lays these out in very specific terms, so there is no doubt as to the rules. They are also very serious about these rules.

Often, people skip this step in the preparation – reading the rules – work hard to build a site, only to be disapproved by Google, or to be approved, but then banned from the program later.

Don’t let this happen to you. These are rules that you must not only follow in order to get approved, but must continue to follow in order to stay in the program. You don’t want to spend days and weeks putting together sites, only to get kicked out of the program later. Google is very serious about this.

Once you’ve read the rules, and made sure you understand them, the next part of the preparation is doing research to find out which topics will be the most profitable for you, and getting the site built. We will cover these topics in more depth in a later article, but for now, you just need one website that will be approved by Google.

Remember that you only have to get approved for one site in order to get in the program, and from there on, you can publish as many sites as you want, on a wide variety of topics, and use Google Adsense on them, from the one account that you have been approved for.

While many just put up a website that will meet Google’s standards, without doing any research in order to get approved, you could also take a little longer, and go ahead and build a site that you can use to target the high paying keywords.

This is totally up to you, and it really doesn’t matter much which direction you go, as long as the site will get you approved for a Google Adsense account.

I usually recommend creating and building a blogger.com blog, and apply using that one. You may not know this, but Google owns Blogger...

coffee
If you are a coffee lover, here is another reason to go for an extra cup. According to health experts, two-three cups of black, caffeinated coffee without sugar and a little bit or no milk can reduce the risk of liver disease - including liver cancer.

People who consume more than two cups of coffee per day with pre-existing liver disease have shown lower incidence of fibrosis and cirrhosis, lower Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) rates - the most common type of liver cancer -- as well as decreased mortality.

"Coffee is a rich source of antioxidants and the protective effects of coffee have been proposed in a variety of conditions ranging from heart disease to stroke to Type 2 diabetes as well as Parkinson's disease."

The incidence of advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis is lower among coffee drinkers. The risk of liver cancer is also lower in coffee drinkers compared to non-coffee consuming population.

"Coffee should be taken without sugar. If sugar is added, it decreases the effects of caffeine. Also, go for less milk or preferably without milk."

Various components of coffee have a favourable effect on liver, including caffeine, coffee oils kahweol, cafestol and antioxidant substances from coffee beans.

"Epidemiological studies strongly suggest that drinking about three cups of coffee every day will reduce the risk or severity of liver damage caused by a variety of etiological agents."

"Coffee is safe for people with liver diseases but one has to remember that moderation is the key. It is also advisable to consult your physician."

A group of Italian researchers found last month that five-six cups of coffee daily can provide protective effect against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Daily dose of coffee can check non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by reducing permeability of the gut, the team reported after conducting the research on mice.

"Previous studies have confirmed how coffee can reverse the damage of NAFLD but this is the first to demonstrate that it can influence the permeability of the intestine," said Vincenzo Lembo from the University of Napoli, Italy.

In alcohol-induced liver injury, caffeine has been shown to be protective against liver fibrosis.

The benefits associated with drinking dark black coffee also helps in preventing diabetes and thus lowering the risk of liver disease.

"It should be noted that other caffeinated drinks do not provide similar protection against liver disease. The component -- polyphenols (CGA) -- may be responsible for the positive metabolic effects of coffee."

"Drinking coffee lessens the risk of developing liver disease but does not eliminate the possible risk factors. So, the risks of development of liver disease still are there but severity may be less."

A word of caution, though.

Children and young people in pediatric age group should avoid the more intake of coffee as it increases the side effects of caffeine in the form of anxiety, restlessness, headache and insomnia.

Pp to 400 mg of caffeine daily can be considered safe for such age group.
